If you are part of the team or an individual that is charged with determining what to do when you first get that call or notification of a potential problem, you want to be sure you have quickly summed up all the critical information for a speedy and effective response. You not only want to be able to determine if this is a genuine potential threat, but what is the actual risk level as well. In this way you will know who you need to notify, how quickly you need to take specific action before initiating other steps such as background checks or further interviews, and the probable motivation behind the report (fear, intimidation, retaliation, etc.).
It is intended to amass necessary detail and data to explore demonstrated behavior patterns and expressions in order to better recommend more appropriate responses and/or resolutions to the presenting issue(s). No one answer is more valuable than another, but together with other known or eventually acquired facts, a more accurate risk assessment can be determined. In addition to covering questions that will assist you in determining the level of risk towards an individual, the TAC form will give you valuable information to assess the safety of the organization.
A useful and beneficial form, it can be seen as one of the first “check-lists” utilized by first responders. No longer will you find yourself at a loss of ideas or questions to ask – or unsure if you have covered all the “important” bases. Again, it is not intended to be the end-all, perfect form. It is intended to assist you and/or your team in quickly acquiring necessary information so that the best possible response can be quickly established. Together with many of the other forms developed by The Workthreat Group, LLC, you will feel very comfortable in your assessment process as well as your response.
